I'm trying to decide which type of driftwood I want in my tank.

Examples

So-called 'regular' driftwood

Mopani

those are actually two different types.
the top is manzanita (amazon dw).
and the bottom is mopani (african dw)

im partial to manzanita. some pieces are sharp, but the fish are weary of it. i have never seen a fish get damaged by a piece of manzanita.
mostly, i just dont like the knots in the mopani. and i like the darker color of the manzanita.

The top picture doesn`t look like Manzanita wood. I have plenty shipped from the US by Tom Barr, and it is a very branchy, twisty wood.

Dave.

oh, sorry, my fault. i was thinking of something else.
thats malaysian DW in the first pic.
i just picked up some manzanita branches for one of my planted tanks, so i still had manzanita on the brain.

sorry for the confusion.
