Which Plant Can I Use....

I would like to stick a "branch" of wood to my tank wall (using a sucker), then attach a plant that will grow on the wood?

Any suggestions please would be appreciated?

Java fern will grow on wood and quite quickly, anubis (or maybe anubias I cannot remember the spelling) can also grow on wood.

Anubias and java fern are popular choices as they are easy growing and dont need any special lighting or extra oxygen. you can also use several different types of mosses too - all of which you can either pick up on Ebay to do yourself or buy bogwood with them already attached which i do so the bogwood doesnt leech brown into the water.

ive found java moss just gets everywhere and it takes along time to root... i personaly would also recommend java fern and anubias

yeah, anubias have very large leaves that will provide shade, however java fern tends to just have leaves that grow upwards and dont provide as much shade

Try ebay, a company "the last trading post" Mike is great for plants and really helpfull.

either that or many store do them .. ive seen em in maiden head and wildwoods... not the cheapest plant though

Pets at Home do Tropica ones, 3 pots for £10, each pot gives you at least three nice ones.

woH thats a good deal ... i know some shops do em attached to wood already ... i guess that makes it more expensive

What can I use to attach them?

Some sort of garden wire or would cotton do the job?

Superglue is best IMO, just watch it doesn't get stuck to your hand though.

a rubber band or cotton string

u can remove the rubber band after 3-4 weeks if it hasnt already broken

cotton string can probably stay indefinitely but ive only used rubber bands myself
