Which Media?

I was wondering what the best media would be to put in the extra tray in my canister to better the cichlid tank? Should I get the nitrate neutralizer?

If your ph is a bit low you can add large corel. In mine i keep corel in one half and spare filter for my hob when not on the fry tank.

If this question is not directly concerned with Cichlids and as this is a filter question you should put it in the Hardware section and you'd get a better response.

personally i think that you should put some coral sand/gravel in an old pair of tights and put it in the cannister, that way buffering the water

Thanks guys! My pH is at an ample place for my cichlids, but maybe I will use coral as a buffer! Thanks for the option!
