Hello everybody, ive decided to plant my tank, but i need a much better light, i have narrowed down my choice to Hagen's Flora-Glo or Life-Glo, because these lights look good for me, and they are easy to get. Does anybody know which lights are better? BTW- I have a 29 gallon tank, and i use 24 inch T8 bulbs. If anyone has suggestions to other bulbs I will be open to them, they have to be relatively cheap, easy to find in common stores, and i cannot order off the internet

Thanks, cant wait to plant my tank!

We have these hagen tubes in the lfs near me too and i a while back i too was wondering which to get. The flora-glo has a temp of around 2700k and says it's recommended for plants. The life-glo has a temp around 6700k and says it's a general all-rounder, but doesnt mention plants i dont think.

However in the pinned topic, George recommends the life-glo.
There's also a life-glo2 out now, not sure what the difference is.

Hi,

I have both these tubes in my tank, and they seem OK. The flora glo is a redder colour , with the life glo being brighter (like daylight), With both on, my plant seem to grow well, especially your normal 'weed' types, like ludwigia and rotala.

The lighting is also good enough that my marsilea crenata (sp?) is running rampant around the bottom of the tank! Quite a nice low plant (2"-3")
