which is better a breeding net a breeding trap or put plant in the community tank n let them try to hid or getting a smaller quarinteen tank?

How many swordtails do you have already and their individual genders?
Swordtails can produce huge numbers of fry (30+ are not that uncommon) so you must make sure you know you have posible homes for this many fry in the chances that you do end up with so many.
May i ask why you want to breed swordtails in particular?
For raisng swordtail fry, i suggest you grab yourself a nice 10gal and get it cycled, thats if you want to breed swordtails seriously- breeding nets/traps are only good for very small numbers of fry and letting the fry fend for themselves in the main tank usually ends up with large losses of them.

well i have 2 neon females and one neon meal and an orange female not sure of the breed but my tank is pretty well stocked i just have a pregnant femal and idk what to do i mean maby i could give them to a pet store? have people ever done that? ive had my tank for about a month so im kinda unexperinced but ive alot of reading the internet and books.

Ask your lfs(local fish store)'s if they would like the fry when they are half grown(the half grown stage of fry development is a good stage to be rehomed at) for free(the majority of lfs's will not pay for fish due to insurance reasons and because swordtails i.e livebearers are very easy to get hold of), if not try putting up an add in your local paper or somthing or giving them away to friends who know how to look and care after fish and have the space for them :)

I've always left my pregnant girls in their original tanks. It makes them less stressed out. I'd leave her in the 29 gallon and just plant the tank up and maybe add some marbles for the fry to hide between. I've had three batches of fry and I've had anywhere from 3-7 babies survive in the main tank...and that was with a fry-craving catfish in there with them. :p

7 babies are enough to take care of. Imagine having 30 or more! If you plan on keeping all 30 of them, I'd set up a 10 gallon tank and seed it with some gravel from your main tank. Then maybe put mom in the 10 gallon and add a little salt to her water. Most livebearers appreciate salt in their water. Then she can have her fry in there and most of them will survive without anyone getting overly stressed out.

If you can't afford another 10 gallon set-up, I'd just buy some more plants and stick them in your tank and let her have them in the main tank.
