I've narrowed my search down to two choices. My goal is to setup a small, portable aquarium for my retired breeder bettas, and plant it with riccia and anubia nana. If you don't think the lighting is up to growing riccia, tell me now, because I can't imagine having a nano without it...

First, I'm currently leaning toward the minibow 2.5 because I can split the tank and keep two bettas in it. Its probably not as visually pleasing, but I don't want to end up with 2-4 of my second choice. I want to add a 10W (6500k) powercompact light. Will this light meet my needs or cook my fish???

Second, I really like the Red Sea 1 gallon deco art aquariums. They come with a clamp lamp and a 13W light. http://www.bigalsonline.ca/catalog/product...id1=1843;pcid2=

Which of these would grow plants better, in your opinions???

IMHO smaller tanks are harder to take care of compared to larger tanks :p 13 watts over 1 gallon might do a better job growing riccia, but it might be hard to put much in a 1 gal tank :(

Thats true, a smaller tank is probably not the best choice for growing plants. However, the only reason I'm even considering getting another tank is because I already have 4 bettas, and I just tore down my 10 gallon because its going to be too much of a hassle to transport it while I move back and forth doing preceptorships etc for the next 2 years....
