i have an aquaone aquis 1050 on my 190 ltr but want add an internal filter, 1 to add more filteration and 2 to put a bit more current in my tank.

i have been steered towards a jbl cristalprofi but would i be ok with a i100 or got for an i200.

any views please

I dont know how good they are but would go for the i200 as the i100 is only good upto 160ltr

I've been using a Fluval U2 for a year now have to say I like the cartridge loading system they have you don't have to take the filter out tilt in lift out the the foam sections and the bio max stuff, it also allows your to change one side of media at a time as there are two large mechanical foams then two finefoam with carbon on the back of the filter foam, also has 3 sections to the output a top one that can draw air in, a middle one which is a spray bar can be pointed in different dierections and a lower one.

There are lots of chioces and that was my one, im sure its a personal preference though, I just like fluval producuts so I stick with them.

Are you actually looking for current or circulation? If circulation, I would definitely go for a Koralia pump, they're lovely little things.. but for actual direct flow (for example, along the back wall), I have had good experience with the Fluval filters (the original and + ranges, not the U range).

Agree with KK, adding another filter wont necessarily increase your filtration, there will still be the same quantity of bacteria, it's just the increased chemical and mechanical filtration you'll benefit from, but even that's not worth it in my opinion.

+1 on the Koralia's, I'd add a K1 or a K2 to a tank of this size, the flow is not concentrated it is equally distributed so it wont blow your fish about.

i would like to add a bit more current accross the top of the tank. i looked at koralia but for around the same price i could also add the extra filteration i need too

Have you looked into the Eheim Aquaball range?--> http://www.aquariumsuperstore.co.uk/Eheim-Aquaball-60-Internal-Filter-was-2208.html
They come in many different sizes. I have one for my small tank,i also purchased an extra spray bar which sends the flow of water out in any which way you choose... as the top part of the filter is theoretically a 'ball' it turns and swivels in every direction. If you find one at a decent price then go for it, very reliable bits of kit!

Terry.
