hi all :shout: im going to set up a 60 liter tropical tank and the only fish that I can think of is a bristle nose cat fish.Could someone give me a few ideas for fish?

chris :hyper:

I will do a fishless cycle first. then have a good research and pick the fish for the tank.

Small tetra's.
Livebeares.

so like guppies and neons right? ,that sounds pretty cool and the only reason i didn't think of them is that i thought neons were hard to keep water condition wise.Is this true?

Are you going to do a fishless cycle or cycle with fish.

I would forget about neons tetra and maybe think of cardinal tetra as there alot hardier and not prone to ntd.
Neon tetra are very sensitive to water quality and should only be added to the tank six months later when the tanks matured.

I will do a fish-in-the-tank cycle with my rice fish.An thats what I thought about the neons but I will take a look at the cardinal tetras instead. Can I still have the pleco?

I would suggest a fishless cycle as most fish don't survive a cycle.

I think bn plecs have to be kept in groups.

bn are usually kept in pairs or singularly as the males can be territorially aggressive, even with non-bn fish. For a tank that size I'd suggest just one as they can grow quite large 15cm+.

so that'l be cool I'll name the pleco murdoc. And are you sure that the cardinals are hardy?,its just what I have read says that they are quite delicate whereas others would agree with you.I hope your right they're really beautiful

p.s did you meen murdoc would have to be on his own without any other fish?

I meant there more harder than neon tetra\s. I kept neons and I think cardinals look far better fish to look at.

Rummy noses need larger tanks and they are very sensitive fish to ph.
I've kept glow light tetra and are very nice fish.

They are cute little fish and I woulds love to bye some. This is my tank idea:6 glow light tetras,3 fancy guppies and 1 bn pleco(murdoc).Someone tell me if there are any problems with this tank :thanks:
