I have just installed a heater in my 60 litre tank which i have been running with cold water for a couple of years. I currently have a couple of pearl danios, a weather loach, 2 paradise fish, leopard danios,2 white cloud mountain minnows and 2 neon tetras. I am looking to add something with a bit more colour brighten the tank but want something that will mix well with the others too, any suggestions. Also on one of the plants on the underside of the leaves there are browny coloured spots, any idea what these are?

Male paradise fish can become agro when older and might eat the neons. Therefore I would get rid of the paradise fish and replace them with some more neons, white clouds & danios. These fishes are all schooling fish and need to be kept in groups of 6 or more, preferably 10 or more of their own kind.
I would also try to keep the temperature at around 22C. If it gets too warm the weather loach might get upset.

The brown coloured spots on the plants leaves is probably algae. Healthy plants will normally prevent algae growing on their leaves. Marsh plants are prone to developing algae problems because they don't normally live under water. Any idea what the plants are? Pictures can help us identify them if you don't know.

The paradise fish seems quite placid at the mo, male is more interested in the female and doesn't seem to bother with any of the others, but will keep an eye on them. Considering the size of the tank, will it be okay to increase the others to groups of 6. Will watch temperature as i don't want to upset whiskers (weather loach) he's probably my favourite.

Not sure about name of plant, bought it attached to a piece of wood from aquatic shop, but have found a picture of one, so hope this helps
