I have just started i have put gravel, heater, etc i have just added plants and am due to start adding fish my water has gone slightly cloudy also can i have siamese fighters, mollies,guppies, silver shark cardinal tetra,black widow tetra and swordtails many thanks

You may want to consider a few things such as:
  • Avoid keeping guppies with a siamese fighters. Because guppies are colourful, the siamese fighter may mistake it as another male and therefore nip their fins, saying that he could be slightly more aggressive and actually try to kill them.
  • Silver sharks can grow quite big and although I have no idea how big your tank is that is 1 factor you might want to consider.
I wouldn't worry about your water change going slightly cloudy, just give it a day or so and it should settle down and be back to normal. :good: As for the rest I can't really say anything. Good luck with the tank and welcome to the forum. I hope that helps a little bit.

Welcome to our fishy family. First things first, how are you planing on cycling your tank? This is by far the most important decision you will make at this stage.

sorry forgive my ignorance what do you mean by cycling

Cycling is to put it simple getting the good bactieria ready for you fish a basic table is

Ammonia -> NitrIte -> NitrAte

Both ammonia & nitrIte are very poisonous to fish and fish poo is ammonia, so making sure you have these good bac is needed.

I am guessing that this tank is not cycled so there for you will need to be doing a lot of water changes to keep these levels to a minimum.

Invest is a good Liquid Test kit and don't add any other fish.

also on a side note your stocking is not the best, you have 3 types of known nippers in with the long finned betta :sad:

You are now doing a Fish In Cycle so please read HERE
