Going to have to bite the bullet and buy a new filter
my tank is 149 UK GALLONS 673 litres mumba tank
looking at rena xp4 fluval fx5 and tetra ex2400
does anyone have pros and cons on all these and which would be best for the african tank
have done a search on them all but they are all old posts and links and new models have been released since then
Thanks

On my 150g tank I run an FX5 AND an Aqua-one 1200 - and I don't think this is enough! I'm going to upgrade to add another FX5 and swap the aqua one for a tetratec ex 1200 (just a better filter IMO) when I have the cash. Depends how heavily stocked you are I guess.

i have done alot of reasearch into this and the general consensus is that they 2400 is noisy, gobbles power and fails at its job compared with the 1200. It seems an uncharacteristic let down from the tetratec guys. The FX5 is super, so ive heard, i might get one.

The FX5 is the best canister on the market for large tanks. If its within your budget, go for it.

1 male 4 female crabro
1 male 3 female daktari
1 male 5 female hongi red tops
