Which External Pump?

I am upgrading from a 22l aquanano tank to a 48l tank. 
 
The question is what would be a suitable external filter for the tank?
 
With my 200l planted tank  I am running an Eheim 2073 so the water movement is not a problem.
 
 I am a little worried about getting an external and turning the 48l tank into a miniature washing machine!!!
 
If anyone has any suggestions I would be grateful

They are supposed to be used with the external filter, however, if you get a powerhead and hose you can use is as a mini external filter - works great

They are much like a mini ehiem classic canister so you do not have to use the sponges provided, you can add already mature media in bag form.

Out of curiosity what make and size powerhead are you using?

I am afraid I cant answer that lol, I used a powerhead I had in a box of bits to try it out, there was no name on it.
