Which combination of fish?

Hi

My large tank went bad a couple of weeks ago, real bad all that is left is a Betta and a Banjo Catfish.

I have a feeling this is an easy answer but can I have a couple of Dwarf Gouramis with a shoal of some variety of tetra and three small cories, will this be ok with the current inhabitants?

The cories should be ok. Gouramies don't get along with bettas. Most tetras will also nip bettas (I'm assuming a male - females can usualy deal with it).

Sorry to double post but what exactly do you mean by 'it went bad'? You should fix this first. Also, if it was a disease or a mini-cycle, you need to wait, at least a month for the former, a week or two for the latter, before adding any more fish.

The tetras should be fine as I have another tank with Tetras and a Betta.

Should be fine mainly wanted to know about the Gourami v Betta situation

Can I ask (just curiosity) what kind of tetra is it you have with a betta?

Sorry should have explained I went away for the weekend and the filter broke so bye bye good nice bacteria, second an old fish died and well didnt help much so I have been doing regular water changes and the tank has appeared to go through a mini cycle.
