Which Cichlid?

So I have a new 20gal I'm working on and so far I have 7 Serpae Tetras and 3 Oto Cats. I'd like to add some kinda dwarf Cichlid to the tank but I don't know which kind to get. It'll need to be peaceful cuz of the Otos but other than that (besides the fact that it needs to be small enough) I'm completely open to suggestions. about 1/3 of my tank is densly planted and the rest is open swimming area so I think whatever cichlid i get will have a good environment.

I've been looking at Ram Cichlids at my LFS but they might be a bit too delicate for me as i'm just starting out in the hobby.
If you have an opinion PLEASE tell me. I'd love to hear it and i'm completely open.

Normal rams aren't that delicate tbh - Electric blues are very sensitive and Golden are more sensitive than the standard strain. But you'll find the normal strain to be very hardy as long as you keep the temperature up to 26 degrees.

I've just picked up my pair of Golden Rams and I love them, very inqisitive fish. When I'm working in the tank all the other fish run and hide but they come and swim around my hand trying to work out what I'm doing.

Other than Rams I was considering Apistos, either cacatuoides or agassizi; these like to be in trios whereas the Rams are best as a pair.

All of these fish are soft water fish so if you have hard water you'll need to think about another species or add lots of wood and maybe some peat to your filter to give them what they need.
