Hi All,

I have been keeping tropical fish for over 2 years. I have a good routine maintenance schedule now and all is running well.

I'm running a 60litre at present, planning to upgrade to a 125litre or more later in the year and would like some Angels in that setup.

Which Angels would be a good starting point for me? I know a lot of my LFS's sell Angels but I'm not sure what type they are.

i dont know what you mean by that. if you're talking in terms of what angelfish look to get, they are mostly the same.
in LFS you're going to find Pterophyllum scalare variations. "gold", "platinum", "zebra" etc are just the product of selective breeding, but they will all be, for the most part, Pterophyllum scalare or your common angelfish.
the one thing i could think of would be depending on the HEIGHT of your tank, maybe you should stick to standard fins rather than veiltails (much longer dorsal and anal fins, need taller tanks)

you're probably not going to be able to sex them in the store, so dont worry so much. if your store lets you pick sexes (i.e. they sell proven adults) then you may want to think whether or not you want them spawning. they get very aggressive during spawning and it takes place anywhere from 10 to 14 days, on the clock!

for the most part, just pick the ones you think are pretty :good:
