Hi there, im kinda new to fishkeeping, and I have 2 female platies and 1 female guppy. I have put one fat female guppy and 1 fat female platy into a breeder. Today I saw them trying to pick at something wedged inbetween the breeder and the tank and it was a tiny dead fish!
The other female platy in the tank had never seemed to be pregnant, so I doubt the baby was hers. The fat female platy I put into the breeder yesterday certainly looked pregnant, and as soon as I put her in the breeder done a pretty long poo, and after that she seems skinnier.
Im not sure if she has given birth and got skinnier and maybe they have got through the breeder net? the rest of them eaten by the other fish in the tank perhaps? I am really confused and thought maybe 1 would survive and definately would have thought i would have noticed one giving birth! Does anybody have any idea what has gone wrong and what fish the baby came from!!! the Gupy still has the black spot so doubt the baby was hers..
Thanks in advance!

If you have had your fish in the breeding net or trap for extended periods of time, she may have aborted the fry. I don't like using the standard sized ones as they are too confining and cause too much stress on the fish. It is completely common for fish to abort their fry when stressed out.
