Other than pets at home, no other local pet store supplies good quality plants, or not atleast a reasonable price.

I'm basically just after some java fern and some type of fronded grass/swords. just easy to car for, pretty hardy plants.

it just seems hard to get hold of, as no body neat seems to grow it and i'm reluctant to pay the high prices!
Anyone get stuff from places online ect?

Also species recomendations would help too?
Large, medium and low growing/crawling species wanted.

Low light, as i dont intend to dose with nutrients and co2...

Thanks

tyne valley aquatics does not have a huge selection of plants there £1.99 each I think so still sort of them same price as P at H, but will probs give you a deal if you are buying alot, and they tend to always have java fern in stock, ring them up and see what they have in.

Yeah, i'm supposed to be heading up that way with a friend later on in the week so should have a good luck round. Most the plants i see on ebay, by the time you add the postage its not worth it.

A few people who sell plants do £1.50 a bunch, but its not really the stuff i want, its always elodea and things, which i already have or have in my pond, so i can get it any time i want. Just my pond is not in java, so dont have a readily supply of java fern lol. I have some java moss, which sometime goes through a massive growth spirt and i can split it off into 3-4 bunches so i have moss available at some point, as long as i'm not in a rush for it.

I would ring up before you go as it's not a huge shop and its only like a 4ft divided tank with plants in, and its a long journey to go if they dont have what you want when you get there.

my friend is going up anyways, so i'm just tagging along for a brows, so its no worries either way. Interested to have a look around that place anyways!

I'll have a checkon java.co.uk where they based by the way?

Cheers
