Well good old labour hammered imports hard

Even presents from usa relatives etc get taxed , a friend a few years back bought me some CH pedals for a flight sim as a birthday present, he was astounded when eventually i confessed i had to pay import tax on them via the uk vat man and import duty

Though at the release time of vista buying from the usa in dollars online, i did get vista ultimate for almost 50% cheaper than uk cost even after vat and import duty , only to find months later M$ halved the cost of vista here in the uk grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Found some cheaper black sand in the uk after stumbling across someone elses post

I'd hazard a guess from export experience to CA and AZ that shipping slowboat across the pond would region in around $200 for the amount i needed

Even shipping in the US is expensive for 40 lbs of the stuff. It is cheaper for me to go to the LFS and buy it for 27$US a bag.
