Anyone with suggestions on good places to buy fish online, and who are willing to post them? I don't really want the cheapest you can find (even though that would be nice!), I am looking for more general quality more than anything else. So, anyone who has got any handy links I would be grateful to read them. :)

I am especially searching for Corys (Corydoras).

For those of us from the united states www.aquriumfish.net usually has some pretty good stuff, its best to buy in bulk because at the shipping will get ya at about $25.00

Thanks for the link, I tryed contacting them before about gouramis, they kept telling me they were getting new deliveries next week, but they never came, and now they ignore my emails.. :(

So, anyone know of any other place within the Uk? :)

Dont you have an Lfs near you?? :/ Rather than getting the fish posted, i always think that going to the lfs and choosing your new fish, is all part of the pleasure.... One of the Lfs near me, even makes you tea/coffee when you go lol, which is quite bad, because i end up staying there much longer lol

I hope you find some, i love cory's and have 6 myself, 3 in one tank, 3 in another, they are the bronze ones..

Good luck

C x :*

I would prefere to go to a lfs too as posting them can be stressful for the fish and the buyer.

the orange cory nice and coulerful.

Since I'm not from the UK, I can't say for sure.
BUT it might be cheaper and easier on the fish if you drove (even a 100+ miles..)

You obviously don't realise how much petrol is over here!

I have scouted the LFS around me within 20 miles, and only PetsAtHome stock them, and I am reluctant to buy from there due to past experiance..

I'll have to agree with you on that on, dont get fish from petsathome, i bought a couple guppies from there a few months ago and i didnt realise at the time that they had whitspot, when i did notice i went back to the shop and all the guppies in their tanks had it, i told the guy there who didnt care!

I've found a garden centre near me in peterborough, they take great care of their fish and I have never had any problem. they have albino and pepper cory, i have an albino one in my tank

Have you tried asking shops if they'd order in for you ?
Quite often they would, but it might take a couple of weeks or so.....

I live in a small town with about 3 LFS, do you think they would make special orders on that, and would I have to make extra payment for postage. Or would they come with their next delivery?

I've bought from trimar and will be doing so again soon, their service is brilliant. The fish arrive in great condition and all mine are doing wonderfully.

I agree posting them can be stressful, but i dont have any fish stores near me either so whats the alternative? Also, if we didnt buy them and offer them good homes.. someone else would and whats to say they know how to look after them? Thats the way i look at it...

If you don't ask, you don't get. You'll never know unless you ask and that's an easy thing to do :)
They might decide to get some extra in to sell in the shop anyway.
I was surprised to find out that my shop would order in just about anything I asked for - even if it's not something they normally stock - that goes for fish or dry goods. I've bought many single items that way, whereas I'd normally have to add on an extra £3 or so (minimum) for dry goods on the net.
