I get this from a local hardware place for £1 so may be worth having a look around.

The homebase is their own brand and the boots one you have to order online for delivery to store as not all branches stock it.

When ever I see a thread like this it reminds me of when I went to a LFS and asked if they had any ammonia for sale, the bloke behind the counter said "na we dont keep that in stock, no point just have take a p*ss in the tank that all do it"

I was almost rolling round with laughter, if you have no luck with homebase or boots, try your local ToolStation they allways stock Household Ammonia

They seem to have changed the brand they stock, which was Jeyes Kleen Off, to a brand I'm not sure is suitable (or not), so be careful.
