Hi all, my betta (of 1 year) died in February..I just woke up one morning and he was floating :-( Anyways I'm thinking about getting another betta...I've noticed pictures of some peoples on here and they are beautiful! Where do you usually buy your betta's from? Does anyone have any for sale?
:) Thanks

i bought mine from my LPS, but as long as it looks like they take good care of there fish and none r dead or ill, then its ok to get them there

I got mine from my local fish stores... I just had a knack for getting really beautiful ones. :D My sketches don't do them no justice, I tell you. Teehee!

I just made a bunch of phone calls and asked around.

I'm sorry your Betta died, and good luck finding a new one!

Thanks stewartsthebest and BeccaBlain for replying! My LFS usually dont have a good selection of Betta's...but there is 2 places I really havent looked at yet...I'm so excited...we are going Saturday to look around :D Maybe I will find a betta

majority from walmart and petsmart, and one from a LFS called feed rite. i don't recall any other places....besides that me and my bf are getting some from aquabid soon....can't wait!!!! :D :D :D

I want to get some from Aquabid, but they are expensive :( I was thinking about breeding them, but I dont know....How much did you pay for the ones of Aquabid?

Hi ooSho. Sorry to hear about the loss of your betta. Thats so sad. :-(

I get my bettas from several places. First, I'll try my lfs, but I have four close by and two more within buying range so I have a rather large selection of fishies. ;) Second, I'll try Wal-Mart. I found a great betta there, so don't discount them just because they're...well...Wal-Mart. :p Third, I'll get them from private owners (like Aquabid or something), but these are usually pretty expensive...I havn't been able to find one I could afford yet. :/

Hope this helps!

keep in mind if you get one from aquabid-you have to pay shipping which is anywhere from 25-45 dollars. more if you get a betta from thailand (most on aquabid are from thailand)

I get lucky at PETCO sometimes, but I usually by most of them from Win Tropical in Chinatown NYC. :)

The betta I had for a year was from Wal-Mart. We bought him exactly a month after our son was born, of course, I cried my eyes out when he died :-(

We dont have a Petco or Petsmart...but we do have a Petland and Petsupermarket...We are going to go look for a Betta Saturday...If I find one, I'll let you guys know about it!

Thanks for the replies!

ummm...no inbs is from thailand. it is 6 dollars to the transhipper and then 25-40 dollars to you from there.

Yep, I've bought two from them. The six dollars is to the US, then you make arrangements with the transhipper to have them shipped to your house. I'm in Wyo and it's $35, so all in all the fish run about $50 a piece if you bid $10

I wish I had $50 to spend on fish...lol...I think my hubby would be kinda mad though...lol...Sorrell I seen a post a couple days ago...I believe you won a fish off AquaBid? If so, Have you recieved it yet? I was thinking about buying a betta online, but I was worried about the shipping.
