Where Do You Guys Find Your Shell Dwellers?

Hi, I was wondering where you guys find your shell dwelling cichlids? I want to put some in my 10 gallon, but I can't find any in all of the pet stores I went to. The closest I could find was at Petco, with a bunch of different kinds of small cichlids in one tank. But there where no shells in the tank, so I assumed none of them dwelled in shells. How common are these in the United States, and what stores do you find them in? Also, can you buy them online? Or if I can't find any, are there any more common cichlids that you recommend for a ten gallon? thanks

EDIT: Also, how expensive would they be at a pet store or anywhere else? I heard $8-10 each?

Where are you located? I found mine with local hobbyist.You can also get them from the larger on line retailers.

I remember coming across a Chicago cichlid association. I believe they had their own website forums, so you may want to join that site and see if there are any shellie breeders you can get in contact with.

You can also try bluechipaquatics.com. Locate din Ohio. Very reputable dealer. Shipping shouln't be much. Also try your local fish clubs.
