dose any know where to get triops kits?do the one's at walmart have the food they need??

I currently have a kit my missus's sister bought me for xmas, it's great stuff. As for where to buy one, I don't know. Google search triops I guess?

I got hubbie a packet for xmas, but we haven't bought a suitable container yet so they're still waiting to be hatched.

Quite looking forward to it actually, though they sound like they're almost as much maintenance as fish! And they get up to 2/3" long apparently. That's bigger than my FW fish.

Very cool.

I got mine at Walmart. The food is fine. They grew about and inch too, only 4 of them hatched though. Make sure you have a suitable containter for them and a heater._CF

Hi guys

Didn't realise that this thread had gotten so buried and I'd not seen a question from someone. The quick sand that is tropical chit chat struck again!

In the UK, buy them here:

The Natural World

or here:

Ebay

And they look like this:

You will need the following:
  • A triops kit - about £4, comes with eggs, water conditioner (a t-bag thingie) and food pellets;
  • A small tank or container - can buy 1g tanks from almost any petstore, the type you might keep a spider in for example
  • 1g of spring water - do not use tap water even if dechlorinated as the eggs won't hatch
  • tank needs to be in bright light - preferably a combination of natural and artificial (no idea why!)
  • a warm room or small heater as temp needs to remain between 22-29c
You get full instructions with the kit, but thought I should mention the above so you know what you'll need, as you don't find this out until you excitedly (sp) tear the pack open!
:X
