Tropical fish can be fun and a pain in the butt all at the same time.
I have had a tropical tank for a few years now, and things just seem to be going along fine untill something happens, and the fish die.
I had 6 platies die in six days die, they seem to be healthy swimming round minding thier own business, and then they died one by one.
They were in the tank for a few months. So I doubt if it was stress.
Later some of my fish got fin rot, and I treated then with medication, and raised the water temperature as well.
That didnt seem to do a thing, and they poor little things fins got worse untill they died, well I presume they died becauase no bodies were ever found. The went missing.
I presume the bristle nose had taken care of them.
I still have one fish that has got fin rot (gourami) and he is still swimming around ok.
The other fish in the tank are fine, still eating and swimming.
The tank did get a sever case of amonia, and that has since been fixed. I am presuming that the dead bodies caused it to happen.
The tank is a Jebo R365
I do a gravel clean and water change every 1-2 weeks.
Some more random rambling to come your way at another time
