Where can I order the Nutrafin co2 kit online? They didn't have it at Petsmart, big surprise, only some cheap off brand. Preferably a completely aquatic website, not Amazon or Ebay... also, where can I order Eco Complete substrate and will it be okay for cories?

Thanks; parents said they'd look at DF&S. Any idea about the cories and Eco-Complete?

Foster and Smith, in my opinion, are way too high. Try Big Als or Pet Solutions. You could also order it from Petsmart or Petco. What brand did they have? Petsmart carries API test kits. I would guess that half the members here use those kits. The master kit (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, high pH and pH) is only $17.09 plus tax (they are in all states so they do charge tax) and shipping. Shipping is free if you order $50 or more.

The Eco Complete will most likely be just as cheap to get locally. Most places charge extra for shipping it because of the weight. Marine Depot has both the Eco Complete ($19.99 + $13.00 extra shipping) and the API Master Test Kit ($17.99). I had corys in my tank with Eco Complete (have 5 in it again now since my son had to take down a tank at his house and gave me what was in it) and lost a few but I don't think it was related to the substrate it is much coarser than what they prefer though.

I guess I could try Petsmart... I have the test kit, so I don't need that, even though I had to pay double for local (I HATE Washington!) I could order the Eco Complete.. but I couldn't find it local. I only have that LFS and Petsmart...

Have you tryed going to a small local owned fish place? If you have any near you, you could visit them and ask them to order one for you if possible (and if they don't have any of course).
Or perhaps asking a Petsmart employee if they were ever going to get in the CO2 thing?
We went into the petsmart here when I first read about CO2 and they didn't have any.
But then we went in about 2 weeks ago and they had a few of those Nutrafin ones in for I think 40dollars which is very expensive!

However, there is a locally owned smaller petshop close by here that has that same thing for 10dollars cheaper. When we went in today I also saw another CO2 kit by that Jungle Labs company for about 27 dollars.

I somehow misread your first post thinking you were looking for a NO2 kit. If you want a CO2 kit, they are generally a lot harder to find but if you get a KH kit (nice to have so you can find out wat the buffering capacity of your water is) you can still calculate the CO2 in your water using this site. See the calculator half way down the page. All you need to know is your KH and pH.
