Hi,

One day while I was at school my hubby went and bought three gouramis all male of course. He thought it would be a good idea to do a gourami tank. Had he asked me I would have told him to get one as most of the gouramis are males and they are territorial. Now one has died(I suspect from bullying) and the other two are in a constant battle for space. There is one smaller than the other and he is getting bullied pretty bad. Here is my dilemma. I have 4 other tanks, but none are suitable for another gourami. I need somewhere to put one for the night as we are returning the bigger gourami tomorrow.

In my other tanks I have I dwarf male gourami in a 20G with 2 angels and a small pleco, one male three spot gourami in a 55 with one angel and 6 rainbow fish, a 5G with one betta(unfiltered), and a divided 10G unfiltered with 2 betta. All the bettas are male. Is there anywhere I can put the bully fish for the night? Unfortunatly I think all the tanks are unsafe. Would he survive in a bucket overnight with no heat? Should I take my chances and leave the two together?

I feel like pulling my hair out. I warned him the day he got the fish this would happen, but he didn't believe me. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Hopefully you have a round plastic dish, like a tupperware container, or a ziploc pot.. something that will float.. fill it with water (not to the brim) and just put him in it and float it in the same tank, he'll be fine. Did the trick when I had two male dwarf gouramis, one being aggressive to the other.

Yes, like pseud said, get a tupper ware container or something of the like, prefferably something with a wide lip, and float it in the tank.

A divider would also do the tricak and would be easier on the fish. The bowl cant be too small, other wise that idea is no good.

you might be able to find a XL net, and put him in there and let that float in the tank, it will act as a breeder net
