Where Can I Get A Fluorescent Desk Lamp?

Looking to make a NANO nano tank! Can u get fluorescent desk lamp and where could i get one from the UK ? or could i use something else...halogen? It needs to be a small and tidy desk style lamp. Smaller the better but decent wattage.

Still...are fluorescent lamps always tubes, can you not get any spot lamp types?

I'd avoid halogen personally. Too yellow and very ineffecient.

Hehe, i did the same with CO2, i was using a Zero rather than O.

I have a desk lamp, not sure what type of light it is, but after 1 minute it gets incredibly hot and i've stopped using it as it isnt safe, it can easily burn with the slightest touch, probably isnt flourescent though.

Halogen lamps get very hot. The number one reason to stay away from them for tank lighting. Can't you just imagine all the exploded fish floating on a warm day...?

Why not use compact flourescent lights? They use the same "sockets" as ordinary/incandescent bulbs. Cheaper too!

Well i`ve been looking at these but will they give me a good enough spectrum? and could i just plug one into a normal desk lamp

How big is this tank Chris? It sounds smaller than the nano? BTW when we getting an up date on the nano project?

Nano project will be updated asap, only the filter hasn`t arrived yet! When it does `ill be posting some CO2 questions
Also my laterite didn`t come so i give up on my LFS either so need to go for that on tomorrow!
