i live in san francisco, and i cant seem to find it anywhere. i dont really want to order it online, cause i know that will make the bottle overpriced. does anybody know a chain store that sells it? is olive and clove oil have the same effects as clove oil?

thanks

Have you tried the pharmacies? It is a toothache remedy for humans. Having said that, it seems to have gone out of fashion lately; I tried to get some the other week (for me!) and they said they don't stock it any more

I dont know about San Fran but over here in England we can get it very readily from the chemist such as Boots and most of the others.Have you tried your Dentist, like Dwarf said it is used to help pain relief in the mouth.

I bought a small .25 oz bottle of natural clove oil a couple years ago at Krogers (grocery store) in the baking isle for about $3 when I was making clove hard candies. I didn't realize at the time how it could be used to euthanize fish.

ive tried pharmacies already, but they didnt have any. im going to try to look for some in a supermarket today. if they dont have any, ill just get some off ebay, and hopefully they dont overcharge for shipping cause i dont want to pay over 3 dollars. from the link you sent me, i saw this "Do not use near eyes or mucous membranes. Strong skin irritant. Dilute before applying topically. Keep out of reach of children." from this, doesnt it sound like clove oil burns the fish to death, since it gets in their gills, and their whole body is pretty much a mucous membrane? thanks everybody

I also purchased my clove oil at a health food store. It didn't cost very much. It's a very peaceful way to euthanize a fish. They just go to sleep.....

arghhh, my goldfish is trying so hard to survive, but i know its about to die. i want to let it go, but i dont got any clove oil, are there any other ways to kill it easily and humanely?

Also, any place which sells fragrant oil essences -- such as rose oil, and lavender oil -- will have clove oil. It smells nice, right? Granola (health) food stores, head shops, any place which sells insence, apothocaries, and the natural food area of your favorite chain store. I bought my clove oil from Fred Meyers, Safeway, a small health food store, and a new age shop... at various times. Not for fish killing, it's actually quite delightful smelling and good for the skin as well.
