Hey, I have a Big albino angel in my 30g. He is mean and full of energy. I alsdo have 2 baby( like 2 or so inches tall) in 2 different tanks. They wont get along with each other. I wanted to introduce them with one another. But here are my problems. First, my newer angel has a bacterial infectoin on it's fins. I do run aquarium salt. THe only med i have is Quick Cure, and that's it. I dont have any money whatsoever to buy any medication( was looking at powderd maracyn). So how should i treat this? Also, since there are only 2 babies, wont one always be bullied. And, i was eventually going to add them to the White angels tank, but i tried that when i first got them, and the angel wouldnt leave them alone( the skirted tetra's were trying to eat the angels feelers). What size do i introduce them at? I have tried feeding BBS but they dont like it( i think it is too small). THey will eat flake readily. I feed them a mix of Spirulina Flake, Omega One frehswater Flake, and some Wardley flake. Omega one is rich in protein, Spiulina is good for growth, colors, and immune system, and the wardley stuff is the only food i can spare for baby fish.

I wouldn't add them until the infection is well and truely over, if you can't get meds all I can say is keep up the water changes. I don't know how old you are but could you ask your parents for a loan to buy meds? Surely they would understand.

I would wait until the new angels are of a substantial size before reintroducing, I don't know if you could do this with your tank but a divider may be of use.

As shroob said I would try and do lots of water changes and ask your parents if they could lend you some money for a new med...I would definitely not add the younger angels now, 1.they may get the disease 2. they'll probably be bullied.

Wait until they have grown a bit and the infection is over, then rearrange the tanks decor, with the big angel in, and add them. One will most likely always be at the bottom of the pecking order but you can't really change that.

Im 14 and w/o a job at the moment. I wont get a job until atleast Spring break( another month). My mom has no money to loan, either does anyone else. The only way icould afford to treat him/her is to trade in some fish( prob my tetra's and danio's). I wouldnt be able to do that until tommorow or later. I am about to do a 50% water change. I wasnt planning on adding the sick angel until it get's over it's bacterial infecttion. I couldnt have done a water change any sooner, cuz i couldnt find the bucket i use for waterchanges. My big Albino is terribly mean, he killed this fish:

By stress. i removed the White angel, but my other angel stopped eating and then died. What size hieght are we talking about before introduction. Ohhhh,my angels are acutally 3 inches, i didnt go look, i just eastimated without looking at them!

I think i know why my baby angel got sick. I just found out that my baby angelfish tank's heater has been unplugged all week!!!!!!!! I must have forgot to plug it in last time i did a water change! I plugged it back in. The water was at 72 degree's! Poor little thing!

The food you are feeding is quality stuff. Omega makes a flake called First Flake, it's a little higher in protein & fat, good for fry or strengthening new fish. Crush the flake smaller for the smaller angels, they will eat it. Another breeder turned me on to a little trick; atomize flake with a small coffee grinder. I have a mix of Omega First flake, a few different flakes I keep on hand from Angels Plus, plus some spirulina & veggie bits, all ground to dust. I have fry starting on this at about 2 weeks of age.

Colder water will make for unhappy angels, unplugged heaters happen to the best of us, I've done it before. Try to make a habit of putting your hand on the glass part of the tank when feeding, you will notice if it feels too cool. I had a heater go out on a 55 last week, the light was lit, the heater was dead. the tank felt cool, and a 250w heater with the light lit should be plenty warm to the touch, which it wasn't. The fishroom sits about 78F, this tank was a little lower on the rack, it was 76F, when it's usually in the mid 80's. Added a heater, a pair spawned a couple days later.

A few weeks before I set up a tank, and added a bunch of fry. It sure looked like the heater was plugged in, it helps if you plug it in centered, not offset so only one leg is plugged in. I wondered why they weren't eating the next day, a 10F drop will do that.

What you want to do is add the larfe angel to a tank that the smaler ones are acclimated to, so there are no territories that the larger angel has established. You would also want to have plenty of taller plants & other decorations, this gives the smaller angels some hiding places.

Some angels are just plain mean, antisocial fish. I have a large black male that paired long ago, after almost a year he decided it was time to start beating on the female. I put him in a tank with some other blacks, he found another female to his liking. He pulled the same thing almost a year later, the pair has a divider now, which only comes out when she looks tubey. Blacks around here do seem to have aggression issues, I have sold aggressive pairs, temperament is just another thing that needs to be considered when breeding.

Cooler temps do tend to lower aggression a little, as they lower metabolism. Once the smaller ones get a little healthier you may want to consider keeping them at 78-80F.

I cant even afford Medicine right now, so more flake is almost impossible. I crunch up the flake, so they can eat it. I have a brand new baby mix( with EVERYTHING imaginable in it). and then the spirulina mix. I tihnk this angel is just plain mean. I unplug the heater during changes, so i jst forgot to plug it in.

By all means crunch up the flake you have. By the time my angels are pea body size they get the regular adult flake once daily, crunched up small by my fat fingers.

I add aquarium salt to my tank. Will that harm the babies? I have it in my big tank also, and he has always seemed fine. But what i was wondering was, if it dosent harm the angel, can i up the dosage? As, right now, meds are definatley impossible. It seems to have slowed down a bit, and some of the fin is still normal. The other fin has a little white on it.

I got another ange\l. The infection has almos tbecome non-existant. The guy told me that i should add another half dose of salt and let the immune systym take care of it, as med's dont really let the immune system do it's job, and letting the fish fight for itself will create a healthier, hardier fish. The angel is another half balck. They are getting along well.

Well new baby angel died. I have no idea why, he/she looked completely healthy to me. I checked the wate ran dcame out with :
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 40

So, it obviously isnt the water. I jus tpicked up 2 mollies for now, and will try to get some angels when they get new ones in, adn when i have money! Right now, the other angel that was sick is doing considerably better!
