Hi ......My question is really about music for moods! If you are down,do you listen to music that makes you cry? Or do you listen to something to cheer you up? What music works for different moods?.....Let me know what you think!!!!! :/

when i feel down i like sad music

but i usualy play piano (sad songs)

playing an instrument is very helpfull in a phyciatric way (sorry for spelliNG)

but its a great way to let your emotions free and then you feel a releave

but eveybody has his or her ways of dealing with emotional pain

Hmmm thats a tough question as it depends on how down I'm feeling sometimes I'll listen to some tear jerkers and others I'll listen to something that will cheer me up or something angry works a treat too!

Totally! I used to listen to music that would feed my sullenness but I've learned that it's much better to put on something that gives a lift to the spirit instead. In fact, just about a half hour ago I decided I needed to be cheered up so put on a CD. :) Much better now.

Fast for driving.

Slow when I'm in the mood for it.

Generally a mix during the day since my playlist is full of various English and Japanese songs.

Skip the feeling sorry and head straight for the Alanis Morissette and be mad at him.
You'll get there eventually, nothing wrong with speeding the process up a bit.

There's nothing like a good bout of Alanis to make you feel like he wasn't worth it anyway :)

Ironically, yes :S Guess we should listen to music that will chear us up, but generally we (well, I) don't. I also grab my poetry books when I down  and have a good sob listening to the Poems read by all the famous actors on the "Il Postino" CD (Pablo Neruda).

I listen to a whole load of different things. I agree that alanis does for anger....theres one tune in particular that reminds me of my ex-husband!! He deserves no sorrow!!
Bloo.....I like to write my reactionary feelings down, hence the poem you have already read.........I have many more.xx

Writing's good :good:. I know things are going well when my journal stays empty ! lol
Not that a journal needs to tell me, but it's kinda indicative.

Keep writing and hope you feel like this again soon :D

:D LOL.....Do you mean you want me to feel down again????? Thats cool....it happens alot at the mo!!

I find playing music the best antidote when i'm down. To me, it's cause you really have to put it aside and focus on the playing, and that clears your mind. Its like forcing yourself to forget about it, which can be a good thing.

P.T.
