I am in the process of setting up my first tank using a 102 maxi aqua one pump.

I have used the Venturi and air line but the pump is extremely noisy. Now looking again through the booklet it says that not everyone will need to use this attachment. Can anyone help because I have no idea whether I need it or not. If I don't use it, how does the tank draw in air?

Also, the pump is pushing air out and into the water, but with it there is a small spray of water being forced up out of the tank, is this normal? How can this be stopped?

Many thanks for any help.

Buy a new filter cus they bull sh*t. I had one and it sounded like a car engine it pushed air out all the time even tho it was fully under. Get a fluval u3 or u4 depending on tank size that all i hav to say bout that filter :hyper:

It isn't noisy if I don't attach the Venturi, but is the pump then just pushing water instead of air? Or is there going to be enough air getting in to the water so that the pump can still function without the Venturi?

I dont use them cus dont want the bubbles ppl do ppl dont i will say not to.ppl say it adds oxygen but i was told at lfs they dont.

Thanks for taking the time to reply to me twice. So the tank will work ok without the Venturi? How does the air get into the water for the pump then? Sorry for so many questions but I am new to all of this and don't want to mess it up.

Thanks again.

Yea it b fine without it. Not sure wot u mean how dus the air get in the water for the pump.the filter dusnt need air for it to work it cleans the tank not add oxygen.

I believe as long as your outlet is breaking the surface of the water there will be enough air entering the water

I doubt the OP will ever see the answer as s/he hasn't been on the forum for almost 10 years.
