Hi. I went 1st thing thismorning to get some female mollies as I only have 1 male and 1 female, the female is heavily pregnant and the male is harrasing her to breed non stop. She is exhausted, bless her.
Anyway they only had 1 mollie and it was female> She had been in the shop 3 weeks as seen her there before and is fit and healthy. had fry herself 2 weeks ago and I got to see them in a fry tank
So I buy her, bring her home, float the bag and all the other fish look interested (esp the Ram) Add so tank water to the bag and leave it to float again. Then when I release her into the tank she has swim round etc.. I sat watching for a while and noticed an instant bond to her from the male ram. The other mollies have been up and bogged off, the male mollie hasnt noticed I dont think she is another mollie and keeps going after the other one as normal. Then the Ram and the new mollie team up as a pair when suddenly the Ram starts chasing and nudging her underneath 
I think he is in love lol. This new mollie is pure white.
So when will the other 2 mollies realise she is a mollieand the male pays her attention to give the pregnant mollie a break? And when will the Ram relaise the new love of his life isnt a Ram but a mollie? or could they stay as a pair? I dont think they can cross breed can they as mollies are live bearers? (Not sure on that) Its so odd to look at. Do you think its just settling in thats needed?
