When Will They Breed

today i went out and bought 4 dalmation mollies. 3 female and one male.
how long will it take before they breed

The females are probably already pregnant, from males at the store or from stored sperm, so no more then a month before you have fry.

Out of curiosity, are you keeping them in salt?

to be honest i was thinking about adding salt.however i have a number of fresh water fish in there.

With Mollies you really need to make it slightly brackish. Check out the pinned topic.

Most fish can handle some salt. What fish do you have? The ones in your signature? Could you give the Mollies a seperate tank?

Sorry, I don't understand the question? Are you asking how much salt is, how much to use...etc? Though it won't work that well in your tank, with the fish you have. The Tetras and Loaches would be less then thrilled.

What's your water like? Hard and alkaline, by any chance?

it is hard and slightly alkiline.

Hmmm...they may be okay for a bit, but I'd look at getting another tank in which you could make the water slightly brackish.

As I said already, you should have fry within a month.
