When Will My Platy Give Birth?

Hello, Can anyone tell me when my mickey mouse platy will be ready to give birth? I can see the fry's eyes in her gravid spot. Her gravid spot is getting darker every day and I'm pretty sure she is squaring off.

when a white spot appears near her anal fin she is about to drop! expect fry with in the next weeek (maybe sooner) she is coming along nicely!

I have a preggers one as well!

hi lucy, more info on way.

Your platy's dot will appear under the anal fin, if it is the first time she has had young, dont fret if she doesnt drop many - they dont to begin with but they are always bigger, my platy will only drop about 3 or four fry if i am lucky. Unfortunately i cant keep them so they will have to take their chances in the tank from then on!

It is her first batch of fry as far as i know ( I bought her pregnant a week ago) So I am not expecting many fry. Thanks everyone for replying!

a question on your firemouth tank, are they WCMMS or another type of minnow in there?

Arent chichlids erm, agressive?

Yes they are WCMM But they are fairly big so the cichlids dont bother them plus i have a well planted aquarium and they hang around the top
