when will my fish have babies???

I have had my 2 swordtails for over a month and a half and they still havn't had any babies? Whats the deal? I also have a platie who had a baby 2 weeks ago. It's still really fat though so I don't know if its going to have more soon or what. How do you know when they're going to have babies? And don't say they lose their appitite because my platie was still eating like a pig when she had her baby or babies(I guess she probably had more than one baby but they got eaten).

Maybe your 2 swordtails did have babies, but they got eaten? You said you Platy's babies might have been eaten, could this have happened with these? Or, are you absoluetly sure it's a male and female?

I can almost always tell when my Platy is about to have babies, because her gravid spot gets VERY dark, and you can almost see the little fry. Also, she will start hanging around in the plants more, and be not quite as active. I've never noticed her appetite to decrease though.

I actually have 3 sword tails and 2 platies . 1 male swordtail and 2 female swordtails and I have 1 male and 1 female platy. I could not even see a gravid spot on my platy when she had her baby/babies. And i cant see one now either.

I am pretty sure my sword tails havn't had babies because they havn't gotten any skinneir.

I don't know about the pics but your swordtails may have not mated either because the water conditions in the tank aern't to their liking or it is posible that your female swordtails are actually female mollys which can happen as female swordtails and female mollies look very similar.

I am pretty sure they are pregnant they just aren't having babies. They are fatter than my male swordtail but are not really fat.
