The females seem to eat the babies more than the males do, so I would definitely keep the fry out of the big tank until they're 3/4 inch long or more. You can go by the size of your mature guppies' mouths...too big to fit in a mouth, they can safely go into the larger tank. Plus once they're a decent size they can get away easily, more muscles to dart to safety! Right now I'm waiting abit longer with some of mine, just because I have tetras in the main tank that I think would try larger fry, I don't trust 'em, they love ambushing! Plus some of my guppy fry seem to hide their sex til the last frickin minute and I end up with boys among the girls! (sneaky wascals!

) So in my case, until I can sex them, they stay put in the fry tank. Some tiny ones show they're male from really small so go figure. I guess they're proud of who they are?

Who said fish were logical?
Yeah, sorry to hear you lost one

, there always seem to be a few who have some injury or deformity or just aren't hearty enough to make it. Hope the rest stay healthy.

I would give them time, they're very snackable sized right now. I hesitate to give a real time limit as guppy fry seem to grow at different rates...I've had some seem to stay the same size forever and then it seems overnight they double in size...go figure.

One day fry...the next, I'm a teenager baby and ready to rumble!
