My molly had 7 fry (the only surviving ones) about 2 months ago. They are about 1/2 inches each right now. I want to know how big they should be before I can get them out of their breeding net and into the 29 gallon. Their tank mates would be:

1 Dalmation Molly (the mommy)
2 glass catfish
1 blue ram
6 tetras
1 red finned rasbora
1 bumblebee catfish

The tetras are about 1 inch each and none of them are bothered by the other tankmates so should I wait until they are about the same size as the tetras?

The fry can be put back in the main tank as soon as they are large enough to not be swallowed whole by your largest fish. Although they may be chased and harrassed by any agressive fish that is larger than them. I'd say that if they are at least 1/2 inch long their parents can't eat them. I would only worry about the tetras if they are territorial. I know some of the larger species of tetras are, but if you have little neon tetras or black neon tetras I know those 1/2 inch fry will not even be noticed by them because those tetras live in their own little schooling world. The cats shouldn't bother them either. I'm unfamiliar with rasboras so I couldn't say anything about them

Yeah what vidiots said, or another way is to realease them when they are the size a neons, thats another way or going upon size, whether they are ready or not

;)

Yea, they are neons. I think I will wait until they get neon tetra size. I am worried about my bumblebee catfish as he swallowed all of the fry before I got home from work. He likes eating them and has a rather large mouth.

Make sure they're large enough not to get eaten. I have 7 survivng guppy fry thats about 1/2 in a breeder too but I'll wait a few weeks before letting them loose in the main tank.
