When To Move Molly Mommy?

My sunset molly is gettin fat again, she gave birth on the 10th and we bought a twin breeder unit(where the babies drop down and are safe in the bottom) but she had finished birthing by this time and all babies were eaten! How can i tell when shes gonna drop the next lot so i can move her into the breeding tank and how do i do this? With a net or just try n scoop her up? Please help im nervous!!! Jo

hi,
im sorry you lost the last lot of fry, molly give birth roughly every 5-6 weeks, i cant give you any info on the breeding trap, ive not used them, i let them give birth in the main tank and give lots of hiding places for the fry, also some floting plats are good because the fry tend to swim into this, then i scoop them up and into a breeding net or 5gal tank, but thats just what i do, good luck with what you decide to do,donna
