Today I changed my substrate from gravel to sand I'm just wondering when I should feed the fish also how long should leave the lights off for?

Ps sand is way better than gravel my corys love it

I generally leave the lights off for the rest of the day allowing them to come back on when they normally would (I use a timer) and I feed at the regular time that day.

That's my personal practice based on experiences I've had and I acknowledge it might be overly cautious.

Well I've kept the lights off because I'm sure I read it somewhere but dunno where but read nothing about how long to wait until you feed them but that sounds good enough to me. How long does it usually take for the cloudy ness to calm down?

Paul.

It depends on just how dirty the old substrate was and what kind of filtration the tank has, and size of tank of course. Usually a few hours. I've never had it not clear by morning though.

I put 15kg of play sand in but I give it a very good rinse so it's only slightly cloudy so hopefully in the morning it'll be clear if not its not a problem it'll sort it self out in the end.
