My original molly fry are about 6/7 weeks old and are getting really really big.Im going to transfer them to a 20g which will have 2 honey gourami,3 cory melasomethingorother and 6 glolight tetra.
Should I just cut them down to one feed per day when I move them or should I feed more?I dont want to overfed the rest of the tank but dont want to underfeed the mollys.
I also dont particularly want to keep them in the 10g fry tank as they are getting so big I think they are out-competing the smaller guppy and platy fry for food.I will be moving the fish in the 20g out when I set up tank 6 :*) ,hopefully within the next fortnight

I would just feed them the same as the tank you are putting them into normally has --- they won't be in danger of being underfed providing they get 1 feed a day.

Try to feed two times per day, until they are a little bit older. Just split up the amount you feed the 20g once per day into two, and they'll be getting the same amount of food, just at two times. :)

For the Cories, the only "mela" ones I can think of are C. melanistius, and C. melanotaenia. Is it one of those?

Thanks folks
I will move them tomorrow.
The cory are melanstius-keep forgetting that name.Always hated learning Latin at school (hundreds of years ago!) :)

How often do you currently feed them a day on average? When it comes down to it, there is no need to cut down on feeding as fry mature in adults, many people simply do it because the fish can easily cope with once or twice daily meals when adult's, but in the wild it is still quite unnatural for fish to get one massive load of food and then have to wait another 24hrs for the next meal- most fish in the wild will have a small but reletavely constant supply of food going into their guts.
In my experience i have found small regular meals with adult livebearers can be just as beneficial to them as fry getting small regular meals, i have found that females that get regular 3times+ daily meals tend to recover alot quicker after giving birth and show higher activity levels, live longer, breed on a more regular basis and grow larger- the males also display these positive points appart from recovery after labor of course :) .
If you have the time, the more small meals you can feed your livebearers the better IMO- varied diet is also another key of course to successful livebearer keeping(make sure you give them enough veg ;) ) .
