and also when shall i add fish

Hi Arif

Are you doing a fishless cycle. If so see the topic in my sig, that should answer all of your questions

Hope it helps

Shrimp are very sensitive to NO2 so you want to be sure the tank is well cycled before you add them. However, if you're not adding any fish, unless you do a fish less cycle the tank wont cycle anyway. I would plant heavily, leave it a week or so, check the levels and perhaps slowly add the shrimp over a few days.

Depending on what you want to achieve, fish are generally the last thing to go into a planted tank. Not having fish allows you much better control of the tank stability in the early days and once the scape is how you want it, you can add your fish then.

What Sam says is very true.

My tank was already stocked way before I decided on planting.

Now they've all gone I've found that there is no algae, the tank is much more stable nutrient wise because the only nutrients that are added are from my dosing and the water at water change day. (Only 1 week but hey the algae has gone)

Therefore I assume that food and fish waste etc must've had some impact on this although Tom will probbly lambast me for this comment.
