When To Add Plant Ferts.

i am currently using Plant Gro made buy nutrafin. i says how much to add but doesnt say how often to add it. soo how often? also using a diy co2 if that makes a difference.

Depends on lighting, planting, fish load etc. Give us some specs and we'll have a better idea.

lighting is a t8 20W plant bulb. varrius grass plants, some argintene swords and alot of christmas moss. fish are the 30g fish in sig.
bio weel filter, med course gravel. and thats pretty much it. o ya and the co2 unit. (nutrafin with your d.i.y. yeast mixture (works nicely)).

I used to use Nutrafin Plant Gro Iron Enriched. I emailed Nutrafin to find out what's in it, and basically it's just a trace mix. There is another one though, called NPK. Which is it you have? I think if you are using the iron enriched fert you might want to use another with it.

im using the iron enriched. it was free when i orderd from aquaruimguys.com my lfs has some il get the name next time i go and ask you guys about that one.


and i just want to add. IT DOESN'T SAY HOW MUCH TO ADD ON THE LABLE!!!!! srry im just frustrated because George Farmer's co2 yeast mixture failed and polluted my water...

It's pretty hard to tell you how much to put in. Every product is different. I haven't used that brand before, so I have no idea. Some of the products I have used were 1 cap full (normally about 10ml) per 5 gallons, some were for 10 gallons. With a tank like yours, you would be ok to only add in after a water change, but no clue to the amount. Perhaps emailing the company, or looking at a label in your lfs will give you the amount you need, then you can use up the freebie before buying more. Chances are you will only get 2 or 3 doses out of a free sample, just enough to make you notice a difference in your plants and want to buy more.
