Hi i have had my fluval roma set up for around 3 weeks got sailfin molly and 6 red eye tetra on tuesday. when i first got my tank i added some gravel from an established tank and some bits of wood from the establised tank as well and i cleaned the filter from the other tank in my new tank to try and get some of the bacteria. I was adding fish flakes everyday and ammonia and nitrite were always at 0 and nitrate around 80 since i added the fish on tuesday ammonia and nitite at 0 and nitrate around 80 this means it has cycled doesnt it? what i want to know is how long should i wait before adding more fish to the tank or is it safe to do it whenever?

What are your tap water nitrate levels?

Keith.

cleaning your old filter in the new tank was a good idea, that has probably seeded your new filter nicely.

what size tank is it again? Just want to make sure that its not massive and you are getting zeros simply due to the dillution of ammonia/nitrite in the body of water.

If everything seems good to go, you should try and add a maximum of 50% more stock than you currently have. Then wait a week and you can do the same again. This will give the filter plenty of time to cope with the new waste loads.

tap nitrate levels are around 20-30

the tank is 200 litres

and how often have you performed a water change and what % of water was changed each time?

ideally each WC should see your nitrate levels brought back to tap level, that way you ensure it wont continue to build up over time to levels that are of risk to the fish.

In that case i would agree with what Zoddyzod has advised you. I would be inclined to bring down your nitrate levels. When your tank water chemistry(nitrate/pH) is kept close to that of your tap waters its easy to fall back on in case of an unexpected emergency.
