Ive just started to notice that at night when I turn off the fish light the Angels go berserk.

What I mean is the 2 angels literally turn on their sides and chase the other fish. Is this normal? Does anyone else have this?

During the day they dont take any notice of them and arnt aggressive in any way.

It could just be the switching of the lights. When there's a drastic change like that it stresses out the fish. Try looking into a dimmer to gradually decline the amount of light.

You seem to have a lot of fish in the tank. There may be some stress issues arising from this. Also, angels are chiclids which means they are not necessarily angels!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its a 55 gallon tank theres plenty of room in there. In fact it looks only half full.

Sorry repeated myself site playing up at this end lol

Hi. I had some fish that kind of did the same thing. I found that if I gradually dimmed the lights, they didn't even notice. Otherwise, they sort of went into seizures. Some fish are more sensitive than others.

Instead of using dimmer switches, you could just put on the light in your room for about 15-20 minutes before you turn your tank light on or off

Good idea (turning on light in the room), since I don't think I can hook up a dimmer switch to a florescent light? Maybe I can, just not sure.

Anyway, I've noticed my neon tetras get very pale if I just turn on the lights suddenly. Later in the day, they look vibrant again. I was worried until my wife figured out it was because of the lights going on suddenly.

The dimmer on the florescent lights does not work... I had that problem, I just did what you suggested; turned on the room lights for some time, then flicked them off. I had some guaramis, and when I turned the light on in the morning, they where a little pale, but the guys at the aquarium store told me it was normal, since the lack of light dims their color a little bit.

Thats got to be some sort of joke right your not really keeping a parrot in a 10g tank are you?
