In another thread it was said that you can't tell the gender of a molly until three to four months- well my little guy is only eleven weeks and he is DEFINITELY a male. He is already an inch long and is very well developed. I do not have another male molly, so maybe that is why he is developing so fast. There are only two other mollies in the tank- his sister, who is half his size (see other thread I started) and an ancient, geriatric adult molly who is blind in one eye. When will my male molly (The Beast) become fertile? When will he need a more suitable mate?

Well if their are no other males then I'm sure this would encourage a young promiscuous male to develop quicker.

As for when they produce viable sperm I'm not sure but as soon as the anal fin develops into a gonopodium then I'll be sure that they can fertilise a female.
