When Do Plants Uptake Nitrogen?

Curious about this? Do plants take nitrogen in when the lights are on or off?

When the lights are on. That is when the photosynthesis takes place and nutrients are needed for the growth.

All the time (except CO2), Photosynthesis is purely for the creation of energy, as is respiration, respiration occurs all the time, whereas photosynthesis occurs when the plant receives light, nutrients however are up taken as required, regardless of whether the plant is receiving light or not.
