ive had this batch of guppy fry for a month now about 20 or so fry. they are looking really healthy. and i was just wondering how long will it take before the little ones get some color in them?

It really depends. I've seen spots of black on fry that are 2 weeks old. But you start seeing colours on more fry at a month old. Bare in mind, its mostly just black highlights, no real colours. When 1and a half to 2 months comes around, you start seeing colours besides black.

mr_br0kn_drmz i'd say their due to start getting their colours!! as snowyangel said i've had young you could see their gravid spots after just a few weeks also!

Anyways you will find that they will start getting their colour very sortly!!

L8r joe!

oh sweet i cant wait till they get their color. the parents of this batch was awesome so im hoping they turn out like their mommy and daddy.

I have 2 platy fry, one is 3 months old, one is 2 months old....the 3 month old was bright orange at a month old....the other one, still isn't that bright...both have been bought up the same way (food and tank size and all)....perhaps the younger one is going to be a paler fish...

i'd say exactly what snowy says! she nows a whole lot better than me, check out her sig :)

 My guppy fry started to get their color at around 3 months of age. Strangely, my latest batch of guppies had color the moment after they were born. They have grey bodies with black tones on their tails and fins. I guess it's because the mother is half balck, so their color showed up early! :hyper:
