My gold barb has suddenlly developed a white or pale spot(doesnt look as if it's covered, maby it just lost coloring?) thats about 4cm long in center his torso on his left side under his dorsal fin, no visable leasons or other symptoms, he's acting normal. water condition is not good so it's prob stress induced. i did a water change today and plan to do 20% water changes daily for a while now.

any ideas what it might be though? what meds if any should i get?

mabye. it's the closest match yet though there is no cotton apearence at all, it looks as theough the color loss is under scales or something. mabye it's just in it's really early stages though. i mean he was normal one day and the nexxt a realativley large spot was there :( well thanx for your help :)

just looked again still not fuzzy though it's hard to tell cause they always get so excited when i come over for the prospect of food he cna't stay still. i had to sneak up last night while he was sleepy and lathargic to get a good look

Patches like that can mean bacterial or parasite, any laboured breathing or flicking and rubbing on objects, any red inflamed gills, any glossy gills or trialing mucas on the fish, does it look milky in appearance, or a slight mucky grey look to the white.
