I'm not trying to give you a hard time. A lot of tests are sat on the shelf for a long time before they're sold, it happened to me last year and it's not until someone points it out that you can sometimes realise it could be a date issue. That's why I asked about it.

The best way to help someone is to eradicate reasons as to why their problem is happening and we can only do that by asking common questions. Sorry if that's frustrating for you.

It sounds like you've diagnosed your problem with your Danio experiment and something is amiss in the main tank that the other long time inhabitants have built a resistance to.

I'd do like Jamepsss says, rehome them all temporarily in a plastic container with a heater and filter, clean the bejesus out of your old tank, possible replace some of the decor if it is really old (wouldn't doubt that really old decor contains lead and other contaminents that are really leeching into your water now), and put them back in after that.

That's okay... I'm on other aquarium forums trying to solve this problem too and it seems that if you don't have a lot of posts to your account you automatically are considered ignorant and stupid. Many people have dismissed my problem due to lack of experience or knowledge just because they think I'm new to the hobby. I only have one post here but I've been in this hobby since I was in my early teens and I'm constantly trying to keep up to date on advances to the hobby. I've gotten increasingly defensive on this subject because I've spent countless hours online and going to fish stores talking to people and they always come to the conclusion that I don't know what I'm doing. Anyways, thanks for the help.
