My rainbow fish is just upright and staying in one place for the last one week. Before it used to be all active and play around with the other rainbow but now its just upright and stays in one place most of the day. Please help, what may be wrong with it??

ive had them for more than 2 years. The tank has one other rainbow and a goldfish. Theyve been fine for over 2 years together, the water is warm. The tank is 4 foot.

Advice from this post still stands: http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?/topic/371554-getting-new-fish-with-current-fish-in-the-tank-2-rainbows-1-goldfish/page__p__3106385__fromsearch__1#entry3106385

Unsuitable tank mates situation aside, seeing as you ignore that anyway...

Are you able to post your test results for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and ph yet?

How often do you do waterchanges and gravel vacs? How much water do you change in one go?

Define 'warm' - what is the temperature on the thermometer?

It's really hard to say what's 'wrong' with the rainbowfish without knowing these things. 9/10 problems are caused by water quality, and us knowing water test results and your regime are the only way for us to have a clue whether your water is the problem or not.

If you can't/won't post these, the only advice I can give is to do a large water change and thorough gravel vac, and monitor the fish over the next few days.

You have rainbowfish and goldfish together in the same tank?

Wait...? You have goldfish with them?
You dont keep tropical and cold water fish in the same tank...

Been through the goldfish and rainbowfish thing with the OP before, like I posted just above. Doesn't think it's an issue.
